Three years ago, I had an idea. It was a small, silly, malformed idea, and over time it mushroomed into something I couldn’t really grasp.
Happy St George’s Day! I thought this would be an ideal time to give you an update on what I’ve been doing.
It’s about time I talked about the project I’m currently working on. Let’s All Go to the Lobby (working title) is a one-shot comic that asks what happens when we die.
Between research and reading other people’s work, I haven’t had much of a chance to talk about my own creative projects. A recent night out in Leeds has led me to consider a different focus in the future.
I’m currently working on my next anthropomorphism article, which is taking longer than I thought. In happier news, however, I’m pleased to report that the first page of Not to Scale is complete…with something of a caveat.
With Christmas just around the corner I may be away from the internet for a little while. Still, I won’t be sitting idly by: here’s what I’ve got planned over the holidays.
The first comic page is coming along nicely, and the latest update is really starting to bring it to life.
I’m keenly aware I haven’t updated the blog lately, as I’ve been incredibly busy at work: rest assured the project is still going strong, and I have some exciting updates to share with you.
Seven years ago I came out as gay to my immediate family. It was something of a tense moment, but also a fairly unremarkable one: I’m fortunate enough to have a family that’s incredibly loving and accepting on this issue, and as such it’s a part of my life that’s pretty much been ticking along in the background.
I would like to think I’ve shared quite a bit of information about this project of mine so far: the premise, the main character, the ideas I want to explore in it. Yet a lot of it remains hidden, for obvious reasons. I don’t want to give away too many plot details, and I want to marry character profiles with an actual drawing of them. One thing I feel I can talk about, though, is the setting of the comic: for the most part, it’ll take place in and around the English city of Manchester.
